- Software Experience
- Linux/UNIX and Open Source: Linux Kernel's 2.4 and up. All major Linux distributions including Red Hat, Fedora, Debian, and Ubuntu. Apache, MySQL, Samba, VMware, Gnome and KDE desktop environments, Open Office, Firefox/Mozilla Web Browsers, The GIMP Image Manipulator, Inkscape, SSH, FTP and other major command line utilities including scripting for the bash shell.
- Microsoft Windows: DOS through v 6.22, Windows 3.x, Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000, XP, 2000 and 2003 Server. Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop/ImageReady.
- Programming Languages and Misc. Proficient with (X)HTML and CSS authoring. Some experience with PHP, Javascript, AJAX, and C++.
- Hardware
- Building complete PCs unsupervised since 2003. Experience with all lines and generations of motherboards (especially Giga-byte), all lines of video cards (especially NVIDIA), processors (AMD and Intel), all lines of Hard Drives, NIC's, modems, memory, I/O devices, etc. in Windows and especially Linux environments.
Work Experience
- 2001-PRESENT: Computer Tech./Web Developer/Software Installer at Cyber Source Inc.
- Responsibilities include installing and configuring Linux/Windows operating systems on desktop computers, website authoring and maintaining, some graphic design, testing/troubleshooting broken/virus infected computers, building complete computers out of parts, testing new Linux operating systems, installing Windows on top of Linux operating system in Virtual Machines and vice-versa. Linux/Windows server configuration and administration. Creating Linux mail servers/routers/firewalls. Using Open Source software. Staying up-to-date with Linux community and new software/technologies.
- July 2001 - April 2006 Cook/Kitchen work at La Mezza Luna Restaurant
- Prepare and cook food. Maintain back kitchen. Duties range from dishes, to cooking full-time with head cook/owner Mr. Allan Hammann.
