Actually bought this one not too long ago as well, about August '04. Right around the time of my car accident, hmm...
Anyways, this is my Ovation Balladeer S771. I got another great deal on this from the guys at Guitar Center. I was so happy to be able to buy this guitar. I've lived forever with a Classical and an electric. It is so nice to finally have a nice steel string to strum on! This is also my first American made guitar which I am happy to say is gorgeous. I saw this and it immediately caught my eye, as Ovations tend to do. I love naturally finished guitars. I usually don't like Ovations, but this one was special. IMO usually Ovations have a very muddy, flat tone, usually as a result of the "epaulets" 
soundholes. There's just no resonance. Even the ones with standard soundholes do that sometimes. However the finish attracted me enough to give it a quick "stairway-ing" as they say, and let me tell you, this thing is LOUD. I don't know what it is, but this Ovation sounds incredible. I wanted a nice, American made, low action, steel string acoustic-electric and I found the perfect one for me. I've read lots of positive reviews on this guitar as well.
